This Tool Will Help You Create a Freelance Contract
When you freelance with a client , they usually give you a contract to sign that protects them in case something goes wrong. You may also want to enter into your own contract. AND CO, a startup from the Freelancers Union of New York, has created a tool to help you create one for free.
The tool is really easy to use. You simply enter your information, your client information, the scope of work, and then ask a few questions. From there, you will receive a clean and simple contract that you can save as a PDF or email the client directly. You can charge late fees, set rules for your schedule, and set other boundaries as well.
While they point out that “the contract template and all attachments are not intended to convey or present legal advice,” the site explains:
Using a standardized contract verified by a third party eliminates the need for returns, builds trust and speeds up the signing process. It’s faster and easier to start a safe working relationship.
The template is also designed to comply with New York’s new Not Free Freelancing Act , which requires a contract for any project worth over $ 800. Check out the tool yourself at the link below.
