You Should Probably Use Facebook for Your Job Search, Now More Than Ever
Getting a good job often depends more on who you know and everyone you know on Facebook. Facebook also added a feature last week that allows businesses to post job listings. It’s getting harder and harder to ignore Facebook when looking for a job.
Even if you are not a Facebook fan – and there are many good reasons for this – it may be worth keeping an active profile just to establish work contacts. As we discussed earlier, this can be as important as LinkedIn .
A new Facebook feature unveiled last week only further reinforces this point. Companies can now post job listings on their pages. So, if a job for an assistant manager suddenly appears at this local store that you like, you can inquire about it and apply directly on Facebook.
Even if no relevant job listing is posted, the more you place yourself in the middle of the crowd, the more likely you are to be noticed and potentially recruited. If you’re avoiding Facebook because you don’t like quizzes or baby pictures, you might want to try to tailor it to your needs instead of quitting altogether.
