This Video Explains Which Lock Screens Can Best Protect Your Phone.
If you lose your phone, how sure are you that someone won’t have access to your entire life? It is possible that your phone has a password, PIN or pattern, but as this video explains on DNews, the lock screen is not as effective protection from prying intruders. However, some are better than others.
For starters, most people don’t have passwords, pins, or swipe patterns that are difficult to guess. You can have multiple encryptions to add an extra layer of security, but DNews suggests a simpler and better approach: use alphanumeric passwords. They have exponentially more combinations that someone can guess than a four-digit pin or nine-dot pattern, which has about 10,000 and 400,000 combinations, respectively. As for fingerprints? This is also easy to get around .
This does not mean that you should simply give up the lock screen. Just don’t unlock your phone in plain sight. Alternatively, if you have an iPhone, choose a longer passcode, and on Android, you can customize your lock screen for security.
