Flip the Loaf of Bread on Its Side for Easier Slicing
There are a few more enjoyable things than slicing a large loaf of fresh crusty bread, but if the loaf is larger than your bread knife, getting a smooth slice can be a bit of a hassle, especially when you hit that bottom crust. Fortunately, there is a very simple solution: just flip the loaf on its side.
The above video can demonstrate this extremely simple approach, but there is almost nothing in it. Instead of leaving the bread on the cutting board, turn it over to its side and carefully saw through from edge to edge for an easy and perfect cut.
