Overcast Cleans up the Interface, Adds Widget Support, and Improves Podcast Queuing

Overcast, our favorite podcast manager on iPhone , has received several new features, including an improved interface, a new lock screen widget, and more.

The main difference in this update is the transition to a card visual system, rather than a tiered menu. This will not greatly affect how you use Overcast, but it will make it easier to navigate between different screens. When you start a podcast, you can swipe down to move the card and return to your podcast list, just like you can with something like Apple Mail. Likewise, you can swipe to the right to set options for an episode, or to the left to see episode details. It’s a simple thing, but it works well and becomes clear once you get used to it. Otherwise, the new features include a widget for controlling playback and support for 3D Touch. The queue has also been improved. Now you can just click on an episode and then click on the playlist button to get a list of options. The update is available in the iTunes App Store right now.
