Steam Cleaner Removes Duplicate and Leftover Files From Steam, Uplay and GoG Galaxy
Windows: Whether all your games are Steam games, Ubisoft’s Uplay titles, or GoG purchases downloaded to the Galaxy, after installation or uninstallation, you probably have duplicate files, leftover files, or redistributables that you no longer need … Steam Cleaner takes care of everything for you.
Think of Steam Cleaner as CCleaner, but only for your games – and if you’re like me, those games can take up a huge amount of space. However, you also need to treat it as carefully as you do CCleaner and make sure you don’t accidentally delete anything that is suggested. In our tests, Steam Cleaner is pretty conservative in that it will clean up, and only targets things like redistributables you already own or use in games, or files left over after you’ve removed a header that Steam does not uninstall for one reason or another. However, you must make sure that the files left behind are not saved games or anything else.
Steam Cleaner has been around for a while now, in both installable and portable versions, completely free, for Windows only. Give it a try and see how much space it frees up for you.
