February Money Challenge: Ditch Old Unused Subscriptions
Readers, you’ve met the January money challenge . Take a moment to congratulate yourself and then get ready for February. Let’s save some money this month by ditching old, unused subscriptions and memberships.
We’re not asking you to get rid of the subscriptions you use and love (you can snatch Netflix out of my cold dead hands). But if there is an outdated service that you don’t use or that you may have forgotten about and it is draining your budget, it’s time to cut the cord.
So, this month we suggest that you list all of your subscriptions and memberships and then cancel the ones you no longer need. It can be:
- Gym Membership
- Streaming entertainment services
- Subscription boxes
- Musical services
First, make a list of all your subscriptions (tools like Trim can help you with this). Then ask yourself how valuable the service is : does it save a lot of time or money? Do you use if often? Can you find a free (or cheaper) alternative? If it’s not worth it, give it up.
Are you in business? If so, let us know in the comments. We’ll have resources to help you throughout the month, and of course we’ll be back at the end of February to see how you did. Good luck!
