Switch Back to the Landscape Keyboard on IPhone Instead of the Annoying Handwriting Interface
When you flip your iPhone to landscape orientation while typing a message, it automatically switches to the handwriting interface. Most likely, most of us do not write messages by hand and would prefer a horizontal keyboard here. The good news, though: How-To Geek notes that when you press a keyboard button, iOS remembers your preferences.
When you are typing a message in Messages and flip your phone horizontally, just press the keyboard button in the lower right corner. This pulls up the landscape keyboard. More importantly, your iPhone remembers this selection, so every time you rotate it in the future, it will continue to display the keyboard instead of the handwriting page unless you change it.
