This Raspberry Pi Powered Magic Mirror Can Be Configured With a Single Line of Code

We’ve seen several different magic mirror projects using the Raspberry Pi, but in the newest MagPi release, they’ve put together what may be a comprehensive guide to magic mirror, or the easiest one to do for yourself.

As with any of these magic mirror projects, the hardest part is the construction itself. To do this, you need to take apart an old monitor or TV, build a wooden frame around it, squeeze a Raspberry Pi inside, and then install a two-way mirror on it.

The good news is that once you get past the difficulties of assembling the mirror, MagPi will do it so you can install all the software you need to run it on your Raspberry Pi with one line of code. Once installed, the Pi turns on the dashboard, which includes the date, temperature, calendar, news feed, and message. You can then customize this information with your own data, or better yet, install a third-party module, such as one that displays the latest XKCD comic or RSS feed . It’s probably as easy as making your own magic mirror, so if you’ve thought about it, do it now.
