Rest of the Day: Windows 10 Game Mode Now Available in Beta
One of the new features to look forward to in the Windows 10 Creators Update , which is still pending, is Game Mode. It is designed to improve performance when playing games and has just been added in the latest preview build of Windows.
- Today’s Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 15019 brings many new gaming features. There’s built-in Beam streaming (their Twitch version), a new section in the settings dedicated to games, and the aforementioned game mode. - Google is rumored to be working on a budget version of the Pixel phone. A source tells 9to5Google that in addition to updating its existing Pixel phone lineup, Google is also testing lower-end models with less powerful hardware – possibly for international markets. [9to5Google]
- BitTorrent Live is now available on Android. BitTorrent Live is the company’s live video viewing application that uses their peer-to-peer technology as part of an effort to expand beyond the widely used BitTorrent service often associated with piracy. [Android Police]
- DailyMotion video site blocked in Russia. The ban is in effect following repeated complaints of alleged copyright infringement. Notably, DailyMotion is owned by the French company Vivendi, which also owns Universal Music and other media companies. [TorrentFreak]
