Why You Should Stuff Your Pantry With a Spine
If you do not eat a lot of pozole , perhaps you have not seen the delicacy of the air corn, known as “Guoming.” Spicy gummy corn gains its flavor and texture if it is soaked in an alkaline solution, then rinsed and dried, or canned, and deserves a place in your pantry.
You can use milf in the same way as beans. Small nuggets are precursors to cereals and have a similar nutty, soothing taste. Some of my favorite uses for this material are:
- In Soups: As Real Simple points out in the link below, Milf does not absorb liquid cooked when boiled, which means she gives soups and stews extra flavor and volume.
- In spreads: Treat it like a pea and mix with olive oil, herbs and a little salt to create a corn spread.
- Corn nuts with your hands: Mix cooked mom with herbs and a little salt, then bake at 400 ℉ for 15-25 minutes, so that turned out crispy savory snacks.
Also, while it’s not really transformative, I really like it as a simple side. Just heat a drained mummy jar with a little oil and serve alongside grilled pork, chicken thighs, or even a green salad.
