Steam Discreetly Adds the Ability to Move Game Install Folders
For a while, you could change the default install folder on Steam, but moving your already installed games was a problem . Valve seems poised to fix this with a new feature that lets you move games in a couple of clicks.
It is reported that the new feature will have multiple users in the last update client Steam, although I was not able to confirm this in their account. This might be a quiet release that Steam is testing. However, if it becomes available to everyone, it will be a welcome feature. To move the game installation folder, follow these steps:
- Find the game you want to move in your game library.
- Right-click it and select Properties.
- Click the Local Files tab.
- Click Move Installation Folder.
- Choose a new location where you want to save the game.
Then the game should be moved to a new location on your computer. You will have to go through this process one at a time for each game you want to transfer, so you can still try the old method . However, it is much more convenient for moving a couple of games.
You can finally move data folders for Steam games after today’s update! | Google+
