Burner, a Disposable Phone Number App, Integrates With Nomorobo to Block Spam Calls
Burner’s latest update adds support for Nomorobo , a spam call blocking service that keeps telemarketers from ruining your dinner.
In the Burner app, Nomorobo will pre-scan all calls to your recorder number and automatically filter any calls from robots or telemarketers. It cross-references incoming numbers with a huge database of known spam callers that has been compiled using the FTC, user reports, and their own spam call traps. Burner is the first virtual phone number app to use Nomorobo technology.
To use the service, you must have the latest version of Burner installed on your phone ( 3.5.1 on iOS and 3.5.4 on Android ) and you must be a Burner Premium subscriber. Nomorobo turns on automatically after updating the app, so you don’t need to do anything else. All calls with suspected spam will be sent to your list of filtered calls, where you can view them and, if necessary, move them to your regular mailbox.
