Pre-Prepare Smoothie Snacks in Muffin Tins for a Quick Snack Anytime
Smoothies are convenient and portable toppings , but if you tend to drink a lot of smoothies , making and cleaning can be a challenge. Here’s a way to save time: Prepare and freeze smoothie ingredients in muffin tins for light, fresh smoothies all week.
I found this fig coffee smoothie recipe at Muffin Tin Mania, but my attention was drawn more to the way it was made than to the recipe itself. She spends one day mixing a batch of her ingredients, pouring it evenly into a muffin pan (preferably a silicone one), and freezing these “smoothie snacks” for four hours. She then transfers them to an airtight, freezer-friendly container and stores them for later. When it’s time for a smoothie, she puts one or two smoothie snacks into the blender, adds liquid, and you’re done! – the smoothie is ready and delicious!
Cool, isn’t it? Alternatively, you can also pre-chop and collect all the ingredients in separate pouches, but smoothie muffins sound a little cooler.
