Kid-Friendly Meditation Videos Help Toddlers to Calm Down Before Bed
My children are balls of pure energy, offended by the very thought of going to bed. But meditation videos like this actually hold their interest long enough to help them slow down and start relaxing.
There is a little trick to calling this “video” as it is just a still picture with a soundtrack. But since there is nothing to look at, children can be easily persuaded to close their eyes. A soothing voice invites them to imagine a story unfolding in their head. And yes, it even works with my kids.
In this story, you hear a crash from the refrigerator and find a dragon egg inside that is about to hatch. After you make the dragon sandwich, it becomes large enough to ride. It may not sound like meditation, but it helps children to relax and focus on their own thoughts, which is an age-appropriate way to introduce children to the concept .
There are tons of other narrative videos (or audio recordings) about meditation, such asa castle made of candy orone that will take you on an adventure in space . And you don’t technically have to be a kid to benefit from it – they make great bedtime stories for adults too.
