Finally Google Lets You Download ADB and Fastboot As Standalone Tools
Windows / Mac / Linux: Google’s ADB and fastboot are incredibly powerful command line tools to customize your Android phone. So far, these tiny tools have been included in the giant Android SDK , but Google is finally letting you download these tools yourself.
The ADB and fastboot toolkit takes up a comparatively tiny 3.5MB compared to the 1.6GB required to download the Android SDK. We’ve had a guide for a long time that shows the easiest way to get ADB and fastboot , but if you just google you might stumble upon fragmentary .exe files that might be malicious or, at best, outdated. This official download finally solves this problem, making these tools much easier (and safer) to access for casual users.
