Create Silent Text Messaging Doorbell With Amazon Dash Button

If you have dogs that tend to get angry at the sound of a doorbell, or you talk a lot on the phone and work from home, the doorbell isn’t always perfect. In Initial State, they installed a silent doorbell that sends you a text message when someone pushes it.

The doorbell itself is an Amazon Dash button, and the software that runs it runs on the Raspberry Pi (it can run on any computer if it’s always on). The idea here is as simple as it sounds: someone clicks a button on Dash, you get a text message. It is very easy to set up and is ideal for those who want to ring the doorbell but do not want to ring. You will find everything you need on GitHub.
