Convert Fabric Scraps Into a Do-It-Yourself Elastic Workout Headband
A good headband keeps your hair back and protects your eyes from sweat during your workout, and if you have scraps of fabric on hand, you can make your own to fit your head – and your own sense of style.
This project only takes about 20 minutes for a headband, and if you want a bun you can shorten that time by cutting the fabric and stitching it. You will need a piece of fabric (polyester jersey used here) cut in two (5.5 “x 19.5” and 2 “x 4”) and a sewing machine. You can do it by hand, but the sewing machine will do it much faster. When you add a strip of terrycloth or a towel inside, you transform a thin, lightweight headband, perfect for styling your hair or covering your scalp when you’re outdoors, into an absorbent sweat bandage perfect for the gym.
