Most Popular Recommended Workspaces of 2016
Every week, we dedicate awesome workstations, battle stations, office spaces, and other high-tech spaces where people work, play, play, and do their thing. Take a look at your favorites from the past year.
Deceptively simple workspace
mrrej89 posted this beautiful workspace sabreddite Battlestations. At first glance, it’s simple, a little boring, but then you look at the details – from lamp to keyboard, monitor stand and bookshelf, it’s simple, but well done and well built.
Minimal ultra-wide workspace
On the Battlestations subreddit, Repens took on a shiny new ultra-wide monitor and wanted to do something a little different with his desk to accommodate it. The end result is this beautiful, minimalist setup with no distractions.
Workspace with three monitors for the gamer
I don’t often see triple monitor settings that really look sharp – I mean really sharp – and this one fits the bill. Evexium shares this workspace with three wall-mounted displays and excellent cable management.
Triple monitor, workspace with two desktops
Chuckles17 just finished setting up his workspace and the end result looks great. Check out this short video tour above and a few more photos of the setup with three monitors and a second workspace on the left below.
DIY butcher block and pipe workstation
Ksmithbaylor built this gorgeous butcher block and workstation out of steel pipes and we love it. Sure, it’s spacious and clean, but hats off to the DIY spirit and for making it all work, work well, and look good. Here are some more photos of the finished installation.
Work and play space of minimalists
Video editor and Reddit editor Alex Mitchell put togetherthis awesome video about his workspace – it’s minimal, clean, has plenty of room to work and expands, and of course keeps work (his Macbook Pro) front and center, and also plays (his PS4) is hiding around the corner. We love it and here are some more photos.
Music lover’s corner workplace
Is one monitor for music and the other for work? We can agree with this idea. Jan Smedemark presented this witty yet practical workplace, and as music lover friends, we value his priorities.
Extremely dense workspace
Redditor jamend loves onscreen real estate, and so do we. In this shot, he’s rocking four displays, a 4K display in the center, two 1440p displays on the sides in portrait mode, and a 4K TV just above. Best of all, it’s not all the good gear he uses for the job. Here is the full rundown.
Space for work and play in one room
The lorby351 workspace is tucked away in the living room wall , but that doesn’t mean it’s fuzzy, well-organized, and perfect for getting settled in for work or play. Here are some more photos.
Arcade work and play space
On Flickr, tadashiiman (and a TadBravo reader!) Shares these beautiful photos of him working, playing and doing art, and we are very in love with each other. Standing arcade cabinet, dual display setup and solid sound? We fell.
Ultra-wide Custom Wood workspace
Above on the BattleStations subreddit , damienslash offers its brand new setup to the crowd, complete with a beautiful customizable table, an ultra-wide monitor and some other touches we can really get behind.
Water-cooled glass-top workspace for experienced pilots and pilots
On the Battlestations subreddit, Sarn shared this beautiful setup with nearby computers on a custom open-top table with LEDs for you to see from the inside. All this is just beautiful.
Rick and Morty’s workspace
The marsem white and wood workbench looks beautifully clean, organized, well equipped , and is Rick and Morty in there? Why yes, it is. Here are some more photos.
Secret wood workspace
Stephen Wilk’s basement video production and editing studio is wood-paneled, hand-designed and built, and looks fantastic. He pushed that basement up to the walls to build his dream workspace and the finished product is definitely visible.
Corner College Workspace
It might sound overwhelming at first, given the sheer amount of equipment in the frame, but Adam is in college and this is his room. Use vertical space wisely and you have a corner perfect for work and play.
That’s a lot of jobs! Remember, if you would like to share your own, you can always submit it to our Lifehacker Workspace Show and Tell Flickr Pool and tell us a little about your setup and we can choose your workspace for our next feature!
