Car Owners Are Kept for at Least Ten Years
At the best price, you want a car that will last you long. But not all cars make it to the ten-year deadline . iSeeCars.com , an automotive research company, has ranked the most durable cars that owners have owned for ten years or more.
The firm analyzed over 2.5 million vehicles sold in 2016, from 1981 to 2006. They researched the number of models sold by the original owner. The list was topped by hybrids and Japanese brands, as well as minivans and SUVs. The company’s CEO Fong Li summarized the findings:
The top 10 cars that people hold onto are made by Japanese automakers, which comes as no surprise since they have a reputation for being reliable manufacturers. But the appearance of the cars is unexpected. These types of cars are generally used as family cars, so you can expect them to last for years if purchased in the same way that their owners create their new families.
Four first places were taken by Toyota cars: Highlander Hybrid, Prius, Highlander and Sienna. Honda Pilot closes the top five. Here are the top 10 car drivers that have kept them for ten years or more, as well as the percentage of original owners who have kept them for that long.
