Rest of the Day: You Can Now Bookmark Your Instagram Posts
Instagram just added a new way to save your favorite photos so you can view all the best photos from your feed whenever you want. Maybe I just want to collect your best brunch photos in one place. Do not judge me. About this and much more in today’s news.
- You will see a new bookmark button below your Instagram photos that will save them to a private tab on your profile. Allegedly, you can also “like” images to save them (you can find a feed of all your liked posts in the app settings), but this new bookmarking tool is private, so you can collect all your favorite photos in one place without who knows. - Microsoft Edge browser will soon stop loading Flash whenever possible. This is pretty much the direction all modern browsers are following as Flash is gradually becoming obsolete in favor of HTML 5. Windows insiders will see this feature soon, with a stable release coming out next year. [Windows]
- You can now stream live video on Twitter app. Basically, it’s just their Periscope software built into the Twitter app that you can use without Periscope itself. (One thing is unclear: whether the live video will archive in the same way as the video in Periscope, but I guess so.) [Twitter]
- Microsoft is not going to stay idle while Amazon and Google dominate the voice assistant space. They are working with partners to make Cortana available on smart home devices, from refrigerators to toasters, and anything that can work with the Windows 10 backbone. Below you can see a teaser for a Harman Kardon speaker with Cortana . [ZDNet and The Verge]
