Make a DIY Camera Lens Case From Plastic Bottles
As a regular photographer with no special gear, I don’t want to spend money on things like matching bags and camera cases. I’d prefer a MacGyver solution with what’s on hand – like this homemade lens case made from plastic bottles and bubble wrap.
In this video by Eva Landry ( part 10 of a 12- trick series ) we see how you can create a basic lens case by gluing two plastic bottles together and wrapping them in bubble wrap. She even adds a zipper to keep the two halves together. It’s not a particularly neat solution, of course, but using the bottom two ends of the bottle adds a nice crunching area to protect the bottom and top of the lens when you drop it in your bag or suitcase. Of course, you probably won’t do this with a suitable (expensive) glass, but sometimes I just wrap my lens kit in a sock. Cool, but not as stylish (or effective) as plastic bottles.
