Cuisinart Causes Massive Food Processor Recalls for Cracked Blades

If you own a Cuisinart food processor, it is most likely one of eight million units that have been recalled due to a faulty blade. Given the popularity of the food processor – and the fact that I and Lifehacker editor-in-chief Alan Henry have one – we thought we’d give you a warning.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, “A riveted processor blade can crack over time, and small metal parts of the blade can splinter onto processed food.” This is clearly not ideal. The list of recalled models is pretty long, so take a look at yours and see if the model number starts with any of the following:

CFP-9, CFP-11, DFP-7, DFP-11, DFP-14, DLC-5, DLC-7, DLC-8, DLC-10, DLC-XP, DLC-2007, DLC-2009, DLC- 2011, DLC-2014, DLC-3011, DLC-3014, EV-7, EV-10, EV-11, EV-14, KFP-7 and MP-14.

If so, don’t panic, just stop using it and call Cuisinart at 877-339-2534 from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM ET Monday to Friday and 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM ET Saturday and Sunday or go to their website to inquire. new blade.

Update: If your food processor falls into one of the categories below, you don’t know anything!
