Turn the Napkin Into a Basket As a Last Resort
You may not have a basket to carry bread or other small items from the kitchen to the table, but if you have a napkin, you have everything you need. A couple of quick folds and you’ve got something that looks as good as it gets the job done.
This napkin basket can not only serve food, but also store knick-knacks or draw pieces of paper, for example, to exchange gifts. Watch the video above for a demo. If you can’t watch, here’s what to do.
- Place the napkin upside down on a flat surface. Fold the top and bottom edges about an inch.
- Fold the top and bottom edges towards the center of the napkin again, but with larger folds so that the edges meet in the middle.
- Flip the napkin over and fold the sides so that they meet. You can tuck the edges into each other and secure them with pins to prevent the basket from falling apart.
Your cart is ready to fill whatever you want. If you plan on using it for serving, you can place it on a small plate for easier serving.
