Photo Mapped Is a Fun, Interactive Tool to See How Your Camera Works
We’ve seen some great online tools for learning how to use manual camera settings before, but Photography Mapped is a new web-based tool to play with if you’re new to manual photography.
Using the web app, you can adjust the lighting of a scene with a small helicopter and then change aperture, shutter speed and ISO sensitivity. You will see what the depth of field will look like, as well as the blur and noise under each setting. When your experiment is fully set up, click the Take Photo button and you will receive an estimate of how the photo will look, as well as some notes on why it looks that way. If you don’t really like interactivity, there is also an infographic version and a pretty cool print that you can buy too.
