Partly Sunny for IPhone: Shows a Tons of Weather Data on One Screen
iOS: When it comes to iPhone weather apps, you have hundreds of options. However, even though Dark Sky is our favorite, some people find it a little off-putting from an aesthetic point of view . Partly Sunny is a new variant that has almost all of Dark Sky’s features, but has a more attractive design.
In part, Sunny is powered by the Dark Sky API, so when it comes to forecast accuracy, you get all the same hyper-local data you get in Dark Sky. Plus, you also get detailed information on pollen forecasts, tropical forecasts, marine forecasts, and more. The design itself is also slightly simpler than Dark Sky, with large flat icon backgrounds. There is more data on one screen than in Dark Sky, so you can see tons of forecast information for the day without scrolling. Plus, unlike Dark Sky, you can save multiple locations that you can navigate between, just like you can with Apple’s weather app.
If it’s not obvious yet, Partly Sunny is clearly a Dark Sky alternative for people who may be looking for a different look and a few extra features, but who like the quality of Dark Sky’s predictions. If that sounds like you, then Partly Sunny is worth a look.
