Time and Patience Are Key to Creating Great Landscape Photos.

Taking great photos in nature requires more than just a good set of cameras. If you really want your vacation photography to go viral , it all depends on the timing.

According to professional photographerBradley Castaneda , who has shot for Jeep, REI, Sony, Gore-Tex and La Sportiva, location and equipment are just part of the landscape photography equation. Castañeda explains that being in the right place only matters if you are there at the right time. Think ahead and make sure you have enough time to climb to the top of this mountain peak, or make sure you get up early enough to see the sun rise over the lake. Castañeda says that if you really want to take a stunning photo, be prepared to wait:

“As photographers, we are not going to shoot when the sky is clear and the sun is not shining … I cannot tell you how many times I set up the camera and just waited. You are waiting for the clouds to move for this light to pass perfectly, or you are waiting for the sunset. “

Waiting for the clouds can give you the chance to catch long rays of the sun, and shooting just before or after a storm can provide stunning lighting. When, for example, a downpour falls, the foliage will shine brighter. Without a little patience, your good camera won’t be able to cope with beautiful surroundings.
