All States With Free Admission to the Park the Day After Thanksgiving
If you want to do something the day after Thanksgiving besides food and shopping, consider visiting your local state park. Many of them are free on this day.
In California, for example, in the framework of the program GreenFriday it will be issued 13,000 permits for daytime use of the vehicles (in order of the queue ) in 116 of the 280 state parks. You can check the participating parks here . In addition to California, there are several other state parks that do not charge that day fees:

- Colorado
- Delaware
- Indiana
- Kansas
- Michigan
- Minnesota
- Nevada
- New Mexico
- Oregon
- Vermont
- Virginia
REI was inspired to take this step through their #OptOutside Black Friday campaign. According to their press release, there are restrictions for California, Arizona, Nevada and Virginia, so check with your local park for more details.
