Make Your Crusty Pie Even Tastier by Rolling It in Cookie Crumbs

The pie crust is already quite tasty on its own, but you can take it up a notch by rolling it in cookie or cracker crumbs instead of grinding the old flour.

Not only does it add a little texture, but it also allows you to play around with additional flavors. Just grind everything into a fine powder and roll out the dough as usual. Food52 has tons of great suggestions at the link below, but these are some of my favorites:

  • Cheese crackers + apple
  • Neill’s Waffles + Banana Cream
  • Chocolate waffles + chocolate cream

In addition to their delicious ideas, I would like to submit the following for your consideration:

  • Pecan Sandies + Nut Pie
  • Diluted ginger + lemon meringue
  • Oreos (no cream filling) + fresh strawberries

In fact, the possibilities are endless, and I could play this game all day, but for now I will stop and give you some baked goods.
