Don’t Be Afraid to Ask for a Favor, It Actually Makes You Prettier.
If you don’t like bothering people with services, then part of you may be afraid that they will make you angry. If so, ask, for personal services actually make you prettier .
Often our own actions in relation to people determine our ideas about them, and not vice versa. In other words, we don’t give our enemies a chance to become our friends, and asking for a favor can fix that . However, there is another way to look at this.
The request for a favor and give someone the opportunity to help you, and it makes people feel good and to you . For example, in a 1969 study, students were asked to enter a competition in which they won money. After the competition, the subjects were placed in one of three scenarios:
- The researcher himself approached the students and asked for a refund, saying that he had used his own funds.
- The secretary approached the students and asked for a refund on behalf of the Faculty of Psychology.
- Students were not approached at all
Subjects were then asked to rate how much they liked the researcher, and those who were contacted really liked him more, even if he asked for a favor. Of course, the correlation-causality argument can be made here, but this is not a new theory .
If you do this, people will feel the same way when you ask them the right questions : important and useful. So if you’re afraid to ask, don’t – most likely, it will make someone love you more.
On the other hand, there are people who go too far and take advantage of your kindness, and it’s just annoying. So there are definitely limits to this idea, but overall, if you’re the type of person who is afraid to speak up , it can help you overcome that fear. Read more at the link below.
