Make a Secret Book Compartment to Hide Valuables
If you’ve ever wanted a secret book for your exploration, it’s actually quite easy to make.
To make your own Secret Branch Book, Food52’s Hannah Margaret Allen recommends that you grab a thick old book you’re ready to cut in, a box cutter or X-Acto knife and some Mod Podge glue. Open the book so that you go about 1/8 of a page, use a rule of thumb to trace where the compartment will be, then carefully cut through the pages with a blade. You can probably only view a few pages at a time, so take your time and be careful. Once you’ve removed enough pages, close the open page and Mod Podge so they all stick together. Cover the book with the paper inside, such as a bookmark, and place something heavy on top of it overnight. If you can’t find a book that is thick enough, you can do something similar using multiple books .
