Create an Automatically Rotating Image Frame That Matches the Orientation of Your Photo
Digital photo frames are great, but when you use one for a slideshow, it tends to look terrible when the photos are displayed in the opposite orientation from how you set them up. On Hackaday, Tim made a frame that automatically rotates to show the best image.
This project is largely superfluous, but that does not mean that it is not very cool. It uses a Raspberry Pi to run slideshows, a discarded old LCD TV for the display, and an Arduino for motion control. When put together, the frame will automatically rotate to match the orientation of the photo. Sure, you can just load your digital frame with landscape photos, but it’s a pretty nifty little solution that allows you to display all types of photos.
