Substitute Flavored Flour to Raise Your Pound Cake

I love the classic pound cake, but sometimes it’s a good idea to stir it up a bit. Alice Medrich has come up with a clever way to give buttery bread a new flavor and depth, and you just need to make a small change.

Click the link below to read the full recipe, but the Medrich Method allows you to add all sorts of new flavors to the classic pound pie at the cost of less traditional flour . Since different flours have different weights, you will have to measure them by weight, but this is the best way to measure anyway. For every 100 grams of baking flour used in a recipe, you simply add 50 grams of any insane flour you can get your hands on. This recipe works with any flour – coconut, oatmeal, or even cricket – so feel free to experiment.
