Chances Are You Don’t Need Additional Financial Advice, Just Make Changes

If you seek financial advice, you will find plenty of it. Heck, we even have our own blog dedicated to this . However, if you are looking to make a difference in your financial life, you probably already know where to start.

As the personal finance site Young Yet Wise notes, financial advice is convenient, but the most important rules never change . Hearing that “spend less than you earn” in a hundred different ways does not change the fact that you seem to already know this . If you were never taught money as a kid, you should learn a few basics , but after that your budget will be determined by what you do:

There is nothing new that you read in a post about money that you don’t know about yet.

  • You know you need to get out of debt.
  • You know you need to save. (and do it automatically)
  • You know what you need to invest in. (make it automatic too)
  • You know you need to find ways to make more money.
  • You know you need to live beyond your means.
  • You know you need to set monetary goals.
  • You know you need to connect with ambitious people.
  • You know you need to change your money mindset.
  • You know you need to continue educating yourself.

You may not be sure about some of the tactical things, but you know that if you want to figure it out, there are resources available for you to get started.

Of course, this does not mean that you should stop reading financial advice (or that we will stop writing it). For the most part, financial advice exists to keep it in the spotlight. If you don’t pay attention to what you’re doing with your money, you are likely to screw things up.

There will always be people who are poorly versed in finance, and we will always be happy to teach them. However, if you’ve been to the area a couple of times, you won’t be discovering the magic secret that will suddenly put your financial life in order. You know what to do. Just go and do it.
