Tinder Can Now Choose the Best Profile Photo for You

When it comes to online dating, it’s vital that you put your best effort – or take a photo – forward. Choosing the best photo can be agonizing, but the new Tinder Smart Photos feature will use the data to do it for you.

As you flip through people’s profiles and others are yours, Smart Photos continually rearranges the order of your photos to determine which one gets the most engagement. At the end of the day, it will order all of your photos from the best to, well, the worst (you can see how it all works here ). Tinder claims that after enabling this feature, the number of matches among test users increased by 12%. So don’t worry about which photo shows your good side, let Tinder choose for you.

Our friends at Gizmodo think the data collection in this feature is a little intimidating , but I think those concerns are exaggerated. Collecting data and using that data to help you find more matches is what dating apps do, so it’s just one step further. To enable this feature for yourself, make sure you have the latest version of Tinder, go to edit your profile in the app, then turn on Smart Photos.
