Ask This Question to End Your Interview on a Good Note.
No matter how well your interview is going, there is still an awkward moment at the end where you really don’t know if you should continue the conversation or start goodbye. But if you ask a positive question, you can end the interview on a high note.
On Medium, Marshall Darr suggests that when the other person sums up and asks if you have any other questions, you can hand over and ask them about their own experience with the prospective company. Darr invites you to ask something from life:
“I was wondering what was your best moment in (company name here)?”
It might sound a little trivial, but you get your potential employer to discuss what they really value in the company they work for, with the added bonus – perhaps – subconsciously connecting you and your interview with positive memories. This is a simple question that can make the final tone of your interview more optimistic. And if your interviewer can’t immediately remember something positive, well, this is a new red flag to keep in mind regarding your potential employer.
