Make Fizzy Fruit With Alka Seltzer Tablets
We’ve already talked about methods for making carbonated fruits , even if they’re big enough for a party , but this method is very simple, quick, and easy to use with what you probably have.
You will need a reusable screw-top water bottle, as shown above, and some Alka Seltzer tablets (note that Alka Seltzer contains aspirin, which you should probably avoid.Only for heartburn, which does not have aspirin in it) plastic cup which you can use as a kind of “stand” inside the bottle to keep the fruit away from the pills, the fruit you want to sizzle, and of course some water. Drop the pills into the bottom of the bottle, cut the plastic cup so that it sits on top of the pills (with slots on the sides to allow the gas to escape), and then insert the fruit. Add a little water to activate the tablets, then screw the bottle back on.
It’s important to note that this is a high pressure project, so definitely use a plastic bottle instead of a glass one and make sure you open the lid away from yourself, others, or anything delicate when you open it again, because gas will certainly build up inside. Leave the bottle alone for about a few hours, preferably in the refrigerator overnight, and when you return, carefully open it. Then enjoy the carbonated fruit.
