WiFox Hosts Thousands of Airport Wi-Fi Networks and Their Passwords on Your Phone
Android / iOS: “Free Airport Wi-Fi” is almost always slow, security nightmare, or expensive, but it probably isn’t all that is available at the airport. Fortunately, WiFox is loaded with many network names and passwords for airports around the world, so you can enjoy surfing – and safely .
First things first, WiFox costs $ 2, and for your money, you get access to a constantly updated crowdsourced list of airport Wi-Fi names and passwords. I tested the app (the developer gave us a promo code to try it out) and of course I found Wi-Fi passwords for the networks at the airports that I flew through several times. Several notable networks were missing (for example, there were only two networks listed at Heathrow, none at Charles de Gaulle, two at JFK, one at LaGuardia, two at BWI Thurgood Marshall and one at Dulles International. Most of these networks are registered. Wi- Fi in the airport lobby or airport restaurant, which is great if your terminal or boarding gate is nearby, but not too useful if you are on the other side of the airport.the same at every airport.
Since all data is crowdsourced, WiFox allows you to vote on information about the network that is working and deny any passwords that are not working or that have expired. It also shows synced networks, although it gives you some tips on how to get around the timing restrictions if you need them. You can even directly copy passwords to your device’s clipboard to easily paste them into your Wi-Fi network settings.
