How to Prevent MacOS Sierra From Loading Automatically
Apple has flipped a switch and your Mac can now automatically load the latest macOS Sierra operating system . If you are not a fan of this behavior, it is easy to disable it.
Sierra is now part of the App Store’s ability to automatically check for updates. This means that he can download Sierra (but will not install it). Fortunately, this feature is smart enough that it won’t load Sierra if you have little storage space or if your computer doesn’t support Sierra, but it’s still a little annoying if you don’t have the urge to update.
You will need to turn off automatic downloads across the board if you want to stop Sierra from downloading. Go to System Preferences> App Store and uncheck “Check for updates automatically”. Sierra isn’t a big enough update to be a major issue, but if you’re short on storage space or have great internet speed at home, downloading the bulky 5GB is pretty frustrating. However, this disables all updates, including security updates, so you will need to manually complete them. Set an alarm or something else so you don’t forget to check.
