Build a Wire Rope Alarm From Parts That Are in the House
If you ever feel the need to make your own incomplete trip alarm, this is a fairly straightforward process. On YouTube, Node walks you through this.
All you need is a piezo buzzer, a 9-volt battery, a piece of plastic, tape, fishing line, rubber band, and a couple of small wires. After collecting all the materials, you will connect them with wire, wrap with tape and attach to the door. When the wire is disconnected, an alarm will sound. Obviously, there isn’t much of a need for this in day to day life, but it’s a fun little project that teaches you a bit about electronics and gives you a tool that I hope will never be useful. Go to YouTube for a complete guide.
