Turn Leftover Jars Into a Do-It-Yourself Wine Cabinet
If you have a couple of large metal cans in your trash can, perhaps from beans, soup, or canned tomatoes, wash them and turn them into a wine rack. You will have a new wine storage location in just a few minutes of work, and while the look is not for everyone, it is definitely easy to make.
You will need at least six cans, some spray paint of your choice, and a strong industrial glue to hold them all together. Don’t skimp on glue – you’ll need something sturdy to keep the jars from falling as soon as you place the wine bottles on the wire rack. You will also want to use 28 oz (or larger) jars to make sure there is room for wine bottles inside.
Use a can opener to remove the bottom of the can and sand down any unevenness. Color in and let them dry, then glue them together in a pyramid shape. You can see a demo in the video above. Use binder clips to hold the jars together while the glue dries overnight. After the glue has set, remove the clamps and try.
