Reduce IMessage Image Quality to Free up Space and Bandwidth on Your IPhone
Messages can take up a lot of space on your iPhone. You just need to go in and delete old messages (and the photos that came with them) to free up space. However, there is another option: first, reduce the quality and size of the image.
As Laurie Kaufman of How-To Geek explains, there is no need to send an ultra-high-quality image via iMessage, especially if you’re not going to save that image. As you can see in the photo above, there is not much noticeable difference when you lower the quality of these images. However, the size difference is significant. The first image is 1491 KB and the second is only 117.
