Google Trips Personalizes and Automates Your Travel Plans From Start to Finish
iOS / Android: Google has been tiptoeing for a while now , offering useful tools like Google Flights and a hotel search feature . Today they have completely mastered a new application that manages and helps plan your trip from start to finish.
The app is free and uses content from your Google account. It automatically creates trips based on any trip information sent to your Gmail inbox – flight confirmations, receipts from hotels, car reservations, maps to your hotel, etc. You also receive real-time updates on terminals, flight delays and gate changes so you don’t miss a thing. Best of all, you can easily download all of this information so you can access it offline while traveling. Of course, if you are offline, you will not receive these updates in real time.
However, the application does much more than just compile this basic information. It offers several other incredibly useful features for every trip. Once you open the app, you will see a list of current, upcoming and past trips. Click on your trip and you will see several additional options besides the standard bookings:
Task list
This feature offers options based on when and where you will be traveling. You can filter for indoor, outdoor, kids, and more. Suggestions are based on the locations you’ve searched for in that city, as well as activities that other travelers are interested in. You will also receive hours, feedback and other information about these activities.
You can save these places too. When you see an attraction you like in the application, you can mark it to save. With the “Saved Places” card, you can access all of these saved POIs and POIs.
Plans for the day
One of the funniest features of this app is the Daily Plans card. In it, you will receive suggestions on what to do in your destination city, depending on how much time you have and where you are staying. You will also receive several different routes. For example, if you are planning a trip to London, you may receive the offer “Literary London”. Or London with Children.
You can also create your own personalized day plan. Daily plans come with a map that shows you where you need to go to follow the route. You can pin a specific point of interest to the map and the application will make sure that the point of interest is included in the list when the suggested itineraries are updated. In a press release, Google explained:
Let’s say your friends have told you that you need to see the Sagrada Familia and you are looking for suggestions on what to do in this place. Tap the + button on the daily plan tile to enter the map view, which contains all the top attractions in your destination. If you are short on time, you can indicate above the map if you only have a morning or an afternoon, rather than a full day. Then just click and pin on the Sagrada Familia to build your route around it. Google Trips automatically fills in the day for you. If you need more options, click the magic wand button to see more nearby attractions. You can pin any new places you like, and if you want even more, each tap of the magic wand instantly gives you a new route with updated nearby attractions such as Palau Macaya or Parque del Guinardo, so you can build your own. route. ….
I can see this is incredibly useful for long breaks . While it is not yet available for every city, you will see a list of suggested itineraries for most major cities.
Food and Drink: This card gives you an overview of what a restaurant looks like in your destination city. You will receive a list of local delicacies, restaurants and nightlife.
Getting around: With this map you will get all the transport information you need, from how to leave the airport to public transport options. There is also information on driving, walking or cycling in certain cities.
The app basically collects all the research you need to do for your trip in one place. What’s more, it personalizes your ride with all of your information, so you can access everything you need in one place. You can of course keep track of your bookings, but you can also plan your entire trip right from the app. It also includes the ability to simply use the app manually without having to access your information either. Of course, you won’t get most of the fun features with this option, but you can still organize and manage your trip. Check out the app yourself using the links below.
