Why You Should Always Plan Your Day Off When Planning Meals

Meal planning is a great way to relieve stress during the week and save some money, but it’s also a good idea to schedule a meal or two to skip. As with a diet or other long-term goal, it’s a good cheat day to keep your motivation going.

As Megan Sploun of The Kitchn explains , the day off is of triple importance:

… you relax, celebrate and get inspired to do meal planning again.

Even if you are planning meals on a tight budget , it is important to take a break and congratulate yourself on how well you are . Who knows? The food you get on your day off can even give you fresh ideas on what to cook at home. And you can take yourself a break whenever you want. This can be once a week, once every two weeks, or just once a month. Whatever you decide, block it so you have something to work on. It could be fine dining at a fine restaurant or just takeout, but whatever it is, you’ll know there is a reward on the horizon.
