The chart from YourMechanic does not list all cars, but only some of the 2015 models commonly bought on the road by consumer cars, but you can probably extrapolate what this could mean for your trip if it is not shown in the table. The numbers vary slightly, but you can probably expect to get anywhere from another 30 miles on some economy sedans to a full 90 miles on the larger SUVs and big-tank crossovers.
Does this mean that you should take the risk and go so far? Of course not – it’s good to know, especially if you are in unfamiliar territory and know when you will find another gas station, but it still means that you should refuel as soon as possible and not let it happen again. It is also worth remembering that operating at low levels or with little or no fuel can damage your vehicle. Sometimes it’s necessary, and it’s not your fault, but personally I like to imagine that on every trip I can sit in the car for hours, and I have no desire to be one of these people. who had to abandon their car because the trip I had to complete with a quarter tank went wrong and now I ran out of fuel.
