Build a Wi-Fi Walkie Talkie Device With a Raspberry Pi
Walkie talkies are cool, but what’s even cooler is what you create yourself. Master Daniel Chot’s kids wanted a pair of walkie-talkies, so he built as close a thing as possible to a Raspberry Pi.
These are not walkie-talkies in the traditional sense. They use Wi-Fi and software to communicate with each other, but functionally they work the same way. This device uses a Raspberry Pi to support a voice chat service called Mumble , and then packs it all into a handy 3D printed case. Even if it’s not really a walkie-talkie, it’s a cool project nonetheless, and great for anyone who’s finished this drunken Stranger Things game. Go to Chota’s website for a complete guide.
