This DIY Top Camera Mount Is Cheap to Make and Won’t Take up Much Space
Whether you’re starting YouTube or just want a stable setup for great shots from above, you don’t have to spend money on an expensive camera setup to get stable shots. This one costs less than $ 35, is completely DIY and won’t take up much space if your only shooting location is a tiny apartment or small side room.
The video above, from YouTuber Energy Researcher , tells the whole story, but here’s a quick list of the details you’ll need thanks to DIY Photography:
- Aluminum Square Tube 36 “x 3/4” $ 13.19
- Wing nuts 5/16 ″ $ 4.50
- Wing washers 5/16 ″ $ 10.49
- 5/16 ″ carriage bolts $ 1.73
- 1/4 ″ Union Nut $ 4.43
If you own any of these, you can save even more on the entire installation, but of course prices can vary depending on where you live and your local hardware store. After that, you just need to drill holes for the weights and the mounting bracket, twist everything together and place on a tripod – hopefully an existing one. As good as it is for shooting from above, you could just as easily use it to illuminate a boom or microphone.
