Sprint’s New Unlimited Plan Only Lets You Pay to Be Choked a Little
Carriers are starting to revive the idea of unlimited data plans, but they all seem to have a snag. For example, T-Mobile’s new plan restricts you to SD video . Sprint’s latest Unlimited plan did the same, but they now let you pay an extra $ 20 per month for the privilege of streaming high-quality video, sound, and games.
Sprint’s current Unlimited Freedom plan is $ 60 per month and limits video streaming at 480p, audio streaming to 500Kbps, and gaming at 2Mbps. The new plan, dubbed the Unlimited Freedom Premium Plan, lets you pay an extra $ 20 per month to limit your streaming to 1080p video, 1.5 Mbps music and 8 Mbps gaming. It’s a little confusing, but you’ll find the full breakdown on the Sprint site.
