Rest of the Day: Google Offers a New Way to Procrastinate Online
Google has some fun new games that only show up when you look for them – just like most of the good things in life. Since you can still search for games to play online, they decided to add some toys directly to the search results.
- Find tic-tac-toe or solitaire. I can’t imagine playing tic-tac-toe for more than five seconds, but this is a complete solitaire game. Also, coin flip ! [Google Blog via The Next Web ]
- In other news, Facebook will no longer provide descriptions of hot topics. The hedging voice of descriptions (such as “video surfaces depicting a dog”), as well as their claims of objectivity, have previously been criticized . - Legendary Amazon bookstores will open in Portland and Chicago. Amazon Books currently has stores in Seattle, San Diego and New York. Jokes aside – is the online store launching exactly what helped kill? What kind! – Bookstores are fun and good. [The Verge via Financial Times ]
- Spotify is reportedly reducing the visibility of artists signing exclusive deals with other services. Bloomberg reports that after these deals expire (think of Kanye on Tidal, for example), Spotify makes it difficult to find such artists on their service. Love and the streaming wars are fine, but Spotify claims it’s a lie. [Bloomberg]
