The Unhealthy Foods You Can Find on a Chain of Restaurant Menus Right Now
You probably well know that chain restaurants are not the best place to find healthy and balanced meals, but some foods are worse than others. The Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) has apprehended some of the country’s most serious criminals from the nation’s nine most popular networks.
There is nothing wrong with splurging on delicious food on your favorite chain sometimes, but you might want to know how much you are spending before you dive into it. CSPI has compiled the most unhealthy dishes from Applebee’s, Maggiano’s Little Italy. , The Cheesecake Factory, Dave & Buster’s, Sonic Drive-In, Romano’s Macaroni Grill, Uno Pizzeria & Grill, Jersey Mike’s Subs and Buffalo Wild Wings. Many of the dishes they cover contain over 2,000 calories, and some, like fried chicken and Benedict waffles at The Cheesecake Factory, contain over 2,500 calories. That’s more than a whole day’s calories in one meal, and CSPI nutritionist Lindsay Moyer explains that meals like this are more like the rule rather than the exception when it comes to American restaurant chains.
However, CSPI does offer some tips on how to reduce your calorie intake, such as ordering from the “light” menu, skipping snacks, using fried chicken or veggie burgers instead of beef, skipping burgers and sandwiches and saving half your lunch tomorrow. … You can see the full list of high-calorie meals on the menu at the link below.
